Frequently asked questions
Is public transport included?
No — the CoolPass does not include Prague public transport (DPP). This is the biggest structural difference from the official Prague Visitor Pass, which does include full DPP. If you'll ride tram or metro, add a 24 h DPP ticket (~€5) or a 72 h ticket (~€14). The CoolPass covers a wider attraction list, so many travelers pick it despite this gap and just buy separate transport.
When does the clock start?
The clock starts at your first attraction scan, not at your chosen start date. From then on, the pass is valid for consecutive days (1 · 2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · 6 days). The CoolPass is valid 12 months from purchase before activation, giving you a very long planning window.
Is the National Museum really included?
Yes — the CoolPass FAQ explicitly names it: "Free entry to 80+ top attractions, like … the National Museum …". Multiple National Museum branches are covered (Wenceslas Sq. main building, new building, Vítkov Memorial, Dvořák, Smetana & Náprstek Museums). This is one of the main reasons to pick CoolPass over the Prague Visitor Pass, which does not include the National Museum.
What about Loreto and the Prague Castle exhibitions?
These are on the pass at a 50 % discount, not free. Specifically: Loreto Monastery, "The Story of Prague Castle" exhibition, Castle Picture Gallery, Rosenberg Palace, Mihulka Powder Tower, Concerts at Prague Castle. Free with the pass is the main circuit — Cathedral, Royal Palace, Golden Lane, St. George's Basilica, Daliborka Tower, Lobkowicz Palace.
Can I skip the queue at attractions?
Usually not — the CoolPass gets you free entry but not priority access. At most venues you queue with everyone else at the ticket desk to have the pass scanned. A few smaller museums have separate "pre-booked/pass" lanes.
What is the refund policy?
Booking via Tiqets: free cancellation until 24 hours before your visit for a full refund; reschedule also until 24 h before. Once activated (first scan), the pass is non-refundable. Unused days do not carry over. Non-transferable — a single holder + single device.
CoolPass vs. Visitor Pass — how do I pick?
Short version: Visitor Pass if you're 2–3 days in Prague, arriving by air (Airport Express included), and will ride tram/metro daily. CoolPass if you're staying 4+ days, prioritize the National Museum + wider museum breadth, and can either walk everywhere or don't mind paying separate DPP tickets. Full head-to-head below.
